Consumer & Kitchen Appliances

New Process manufactures Teflon™ PTFE products that are found in the majority of consumer & kitchen appliances. Teflon™ PTFE is particularly popular in the appliance industry because of several inherent properties, including its complete resistance to both water and oil, and a very low coefficient of friction.

For example, blenders are often built with Teflon™ PTFE washers to ensure that the units are resistant to wear and do not fail over time, and to protect the motor from food particles and liquids. Teflon™ PTFE also features a very high melting point, and is therefore useful for applications where a lot of heat is produced during operation.

Why Choose Teflon PTFE?

Teflon™ PTFE is an excellent thermal insulator and is the most chemically resistant plastic on the market. It is one of the only materials that is unaffected by almost all corrosive vapors, liquids, and gases, and is able to withstand up to 500 volts per mil and temperatures up to 600 degrees F. Good dimensional stability, creep resistance, and anti-frictional properties ensure that Teflon™ PTFE parts perform consistently and last a long time.
