Power Tools

New Process manufactures Teflon™ PTFE parts that are used by industry leaders in power tool manufacturing. Teflon™ PTFE is particularly popular in the power tool industry because of several ideal material properties, such as its total resistance to water and oil, very low coefficient of friction, and heat/corrosion resistance.

For example, drills often feature Teflon™ PTFE washers to ensure that the unit is resistant to wear, lasts a long time, and to protect the motor from debris and fluids. Teflon™ PTFE also features a very high melting point, making it useful for any power tool application that produces a lot of heat during operation.

Why Teflon PTFE?

Teflon™ PTFE has excellent thermal insulation properties and is the most chemically resistant plastic available: It is one of the only materials on the market that is resistant to almost all corrosive fluids. Teflon™ PTFE can withstand up to 500 volts per mil and temperatures up to 600 degrees F.

Additionally, Teflon™ PTFE parts tend to last a long time and operate at peak performance levels without frequent adjustments because of the material’s excellent dimensional stability, creep resistance, and anti-frictional properties.

Power Tool Applications

New Process is an established leader in the power tool industry: any tool that has a motor may very well contain a custom-designed fibre part fabricated by New Process. Our custom parts are used in a many different types of tools produced by industry-leading manufacturers.
